Last year, as we were preparing to enter the Christmas season, our team from Friida Foundation had a strong desire in our hearts, to share love where it was needed most.

I remember that day clearly because I was there with the team. We visited Nalufenya Children’s Hospital, and what we experienced touched us deeply.

A Warm Welcome from the Hospital

From the moment we arrived, the hospital staff welcomed us with kindness and understanding. They appreciated that we had come not just to give items, but to stand with the mothers and children during a very difficult time in their lives.

The atmosphere was emotional. Many mothers were sitting beside their sick children, some tired, some worried, but still holding on to hope.

What We Brought

As a foundation, we may not have everything, but we always give what we can with love. That day, we shared:

These may seem small to some people, but to those mothers in the ward, they meant so much.

Some of them had been at the hospital for weeks. Even getting simple items like soap can be a challenge when you are caring for a sick child.

Prayers, Encouragement, and Hope

More than the items, we shared words of encouragement. We prayed with the mothers. We spoke hope into their hearts. We reminded them that they are not alone.

I personally saw tears in some eyes — not tears of pain, but tears of comfort. Christmas is a season of love and giving, and in that hospital ward, we felt the true meaning of it.

We encouraged them to stay strong. We prayed for healing over the children. We shared the love of Christ and reminded them that God sees them.

A Special Request from the Hospital

One thing that touched us greatly was this — the hospital management appreciated our visit so much that they requested us to come back again.

They told us that such visits bring light into the hospital. They said our presence, prayers, and support gave emotional strength to the mothers and even to the staff.

That request confirmed to us that our mission matters.

Moving Forward Together

At Friida Foundation, we believe that even small acts of kindness can change lives. But we cannot do it alone.
